Polar Vortex

Well, it looks like the Polar Vortex is finally over and life in Scotland is back to normal... Luckily the weather didn’t affect our family all that much, but many airports around the country were shut down, and people were stranded for hours (AND HOURS) on trains and motorways.

god, that would have sucked.

We don’t typically get much snow in this part of Scotland, so the kids' winter outerwear wasn't totally up to par. Obviously, we improvised.  Theo wore his snowsuit from last year, and Olive wore plastic bags on her feet to keep them dry.

Whatevs.

Turns out, our beloved Olive hates the snow, so I’m DEFINITELY not spending any of our hard-earned cash on that diva's winter wardrobe!

We are going to have to work on her, because I CAN NOT have 'winter-sports-hating' child.

We are going to have to work on her, because I CAN NOT have 'winter-sports-hating' child.

My kids are apparently still too young to really enjoy the snow, but we did have one good outing and Theo experienced his first sledding experience. Or “sledging” as they call it in Scotland.

Overall, I would call it a success!

Soooo now that we've had a "winter-y" experience for the year, can we pleeeeease get some sun and warm weather? Because I am dying for some vitamin-D.
